How You Can Help

While I appreciate all the generous offers, I am determined to pay for my yarn on my own. If you are interested in supporting brain cancer research, please consider donating to Jim Olson’s lab here. Under “Please direct my contribution to,” click “Other,” and specify “Jim Olson’s lab.” To donate in Hannah’s name, select “Click here if your donation is a memorial or special occasion,” then specify “In Memory Of” and enter Hannah’s name.

I am also accepting donations of knitted hats, which you can mail to me- send a message to to get my mailing address. In keeping with the goal of my project, hats should be well-made, fashionable, and in tasteful colors- these hats will most likely go to girls from their preteens to early twenties, in case you need a point of reference as far as what they should look like. Also, please use warm, good-quality yarns that will not be itchy- my favorite is merino. While I hate to exclude anyone from helping out, I ask that any potential knitters first read my mission statement and then use their judgment.

I am also happy to offer pattern or yarn suggestions if needed, just contact me if you need advice!

With a warrior spirit, you can fight the cancer.

If you were a kid and you found out you had brain cancer, what would you think about? What would be the worst things that could happen to you if you had cancer? Sadness? Pain? Being tired of all the appointments, treatment, IV’s and years of your life passing you by at the hospital? I wish kids would not go through these things.
